Biography
Born on March 7, 1994, in Curitiba, Hugo Leonardo Martins Correa began his studies at the age of 9 in the classical guitar course at the Lyra School of Musical Culture. At 15, he studied electric guitar at the André Perle School of Music (EMAP), where he was later invited to teach.
In 2012, at the age of 18, he enrolled in the Composition and Conducting course at the Paraná School of Music and Fine Arts (EMBAP). He served as conductor of the Big Belas Band jazz orchestra for two years (2014-2015), where he continues to work as a composer and arranger. In 2014, he was awarded a scholarship by the Araucária Foundation through EMBAP's scientific initiation program, where he authored the article "Analysis of the Fairy Tail Animation Soundtrack," presented at regional, national, and international events.
In partnership with the Department of Culture of São José dos Pinhais, he organized two editions of the event “Classics: Anime and Games.” These concerts featured music from animated series and video games.
In the video game industry, Hugo has worked on the following games: Vocal Space Shooter, Milkway Coliseum, Jumper Starman, 4 of Us, Tá de Onda Jobim?, Boat Trouble, Rattlesnake, A Sagração dos Sopros, and Sonm. In the latter, he not only worked on the soundtrack but also managed all aspects of the project, including the storyline, game design, and production. In 2018, he received the Highlight of the Year Award from the Game Audio Academy.
He currently holds the position of Collaborating Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUC-PR), where he teaches courses in the Undergraduate Music Production Program. He holds a Doctorate in Music from the Graduate Program in Music at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). He was the conductor of the Caixa de Assistência dos Advogados do Paraná Choir from 2016 to 2018. His research focuses on composition, arrangement, and game audio.
In 2021, he published the book Arranjo Musical with InterSaberes Publishing House, and in 2024, he published Como Cobrar Por Sua Arte.
